Thailand

We had a day at sea... this is the view from our balcony!

We arrived in Thailand, and departed for Bangkok. We boarded a chartered motor launch to journey through the canals and river tributaries that traverse the city.

Then, we went to Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. This temple was built in the 18th century and is often recognized as the symbol of Thailand.

We checked into the hotel, and could not believe our view!

In the evening, we went for a meal at a local restaurant along the water. The view was beautiful, as all the boats are decorated with lights as they sailed by the window. There was also a great performance by Thai dancers during dinner.

We then headed off to another temple, Wat Ratchabophit, where we saw Buddhist monks perform a ceremony for us with chanting.
Finally, we arrived at the Grand Palace... and grand it is! We have so many photos that we cannot even begin to show you them all here! But, here are some highlights.

We arrived back at the ship and went to the top deck to have a drink and watch the ship set sail. Now we are just relaxing, watching the sun set over the ocean, and will head off to dinner soon. Tomorrow we have a full day at sea to rest... and we'll need it, after walking around Bangkok for 2 days in the 95-degree heat with 90+ percent humidity!
